How Trailblazer Water Damage Was Born in Rialto

We started Trailblazer Water Damage in 2013, but the decision to open our doors came a year earlier, on a July afternoon when the heat off the San Bernardino foothills made the asphalt on Foothill Boulevard feel soft underfoot. A homeowner in Rialto had called us, not as a company then, just as someone who knew the trade, because a supply line under their kitchen sink had failed while they were at work. The water ran for hours. By the time we arrived, the hardwood was cupping and the baseboards had swollen away from the drywall. They had already gotten a quote from a restoration outfit that afternoon. The number was staggering, and it came with pressure: sign now, the price goes up tomorrow, the fans go in tonight, the bill goes up next week.

We walked the house with them, explained what actually needed to happen, what could wait, what would dry and what would not. The quote they had been given covered work the house did not need. We were angry, not at the industry exactly, but at how normal that felt. That night, driving home past the rail yards off Riverside Avenue, we decided the Inland Empire deserved a restoration company that told the truth first and priced the work second. We filed the paperwork, bought our first air movers and dehumidifiers used, and took every job we could find in Rialto, Bloomington, Fontana, and Colton. The promise was simple: show up, tell the truth, do the work that is needed, and charge what the work costs. That promise has not changed.

Our Founder’s Personal Connection to the Damage Restoration Trade

This work got into our bones long before the company existed. We grew up around construction, around people who understood how a house breathes, how water moves through a structure, how materials fail. The first time we pulled wet drywall away from a stud bay and saw the path the water had taken, the way it tracked along the framing and pooled in the sill plate, something clicked. It was not a flood. It was a clue. The house was telling us what happened, and if we paid attention, we could fix it right.

In the early years, working under other roofs, we saw the difference between drying a house and just making it look dry. The smell of a wall cavity that was closed too soon stays with you, sour and musty, hiding behind fresh paint. We learned to trust moisture meters more than our own eyes. We learned that cutting a hole to check costs less than rebuilding a wall twice. The work became personal, because a family living with a damp, hidden problem is not living in a house, they are living in a slow emergency. We have spent over a decade doing this, and what gets us out of bed is the same thing that got us out of bed on that first day: the chance to walk into a home where something has gone wrong, and leave it with that wrong made right. If we were not doing restoration, we would probably still be working with our hands somewhere, because that is the only way we know how to live.

Meet Our Team – The Person Behind Every Job

Trailblazer Water Damage is led by its owner and founder, who holds industry training through the IICRC and the RIA, and who has worked in damage restoration in the Inland Empire since before the company was founded in 2013. That training matters, but it is the years spent walking wet houses in Rialto, San Bernardino, and Grand Terrace that shape how every job is scoped and run. The difference between an independent operator like us and a technician sent from a corporate office is not the tools, it is the memory. We know what a slab leak in a 1970s Muscoy rancher looks like. We know how the soil under Bloomington reacts to a saturated crawlspace. We know the homes here because we have worked in them for more than a decade.

Outside of work, we are the kind of people who restore things. Furniture, tools, the occasional old truck. It is the same instinct, on a smaller scale. We do not like throwing things away that can be saved. We bring that same instinct to every home we enter. Our commitment to our customers is this: we will treat your house the way we would treat our own, and we will not leave until the work is done correctly and the site is clean.

Our Promise to Rialto Homeowners

Honest pricing is not a slogan for us, it is the rule we wrote down before we took our first job. Every project starts with a written scope of work, and every line item is explained before any equipment gets unloaded. If the scope changes during the job, the paperwork changes before the work continues. No surprises on the invoice, no add-ons that were not discussed.

Quality parts and materials matter because restoration work is hidden work. The equipment behind a baseboard, the sealant under a floor, the air scrubber running in a corner, none of it is visible when the job is done. We use brands like Dri-Eaz because we have watched their equipment dry structures properly for years, and we do not gamble with a homeowner’s health or a home’s structure to save a few dollars on a fan. Standing behind every job means answering the phone after the invoice is paid. If a dry patch fails or a question comes up a month later, we come back.

Our Credentials

  • State-licensed – Every professional working under the Trailblazer Water Damage name is required to hold the license their state requires for the work they perform.
  • Insured & bonded – We carry the insurance and bonding coverage that homeowners should expect from any restoration company entering their home.
  • IICRC and RIA trained – Our owner has completed training through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification and the Restoration Industry Association, the two most recognized bodies in the damage restoration trade.
  • IFA member – We are part of the Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration industry’s professional network, which keeps us connected to current standards and best practices.
  • More than a decade of local experience – We have worked in Rialto and the surrounding Inland Empire communities since 2013.
  • Strong local reputation – Our business has grown through repeat customers and referrals from homeowners, property managers, and insurance professionals across San Bernardino County.

Each of these credentials matters for a simple reason: when someone is standing in your living room talking about cutting into your walls, you deserve to know they are qualified, covered, and accountable. A license means there is a board to answer to. Insurance means your property is protected. Training means the person holding the moisture meter knows how to read it. And local experience means they have likely fixed a problem just like yours on a street just like yours.

Rooted in Rialto

Rialto is not just where our shop is. It is where we do our own living. We know the streets, the neighborhoods, the way the morning sun hits the hills above Sunnyslope and Glen Avon. We have watched the city change and grow since 2013, and we have been proud to grow with it. When a house floods in Bloomington or a water heater fails in Colton, it is not an abstract job to us. It is a neighbor. We are rooted here, and we plan to stay here, doing this work, for as long as there are homes that need saving.
